Our Family Doing Business With Your Family Nelson Family Farms, currently in its 5th & 6th generation of farming is made up of a partnership between Gary and his wife, Karma Nelson (Parents) and Dave (Son) and his wife, Fonda Nelson. Dating back to the year 1886 when Peter Nelson purchased 80 acres in Elkhorn Township of Webster County, IA., the original farmstead remains home to the Nelson Family and their farming operation. Through the years of drastic changes in crop production and technology advances, our family still stands by on the foundation that built this farm: Trust, Family Values, Hard Work and Relationships. Our Operation today consists of a Corn and Soybean operation as well as a Fertilizer and Sprayer Equipment Dealership – Brokaw Supply Company. Corn and Soybeans being our primary crops, we put first and foremost the stewardship of the ground that we farm. Soil Conservation practices such as strip tillage and conservation tillage, |
grass waterways, buffer strips, stream bank stabilization and CRP are a few of the many ways we try to protect and preserve the rich fertile soil that we are blessed with in NC Iowa. Implementing and utilizing the latest technologies in crop production farming allows us to make sound agronomic and managerial decisions in the areas of: crop inputs, fuel, machinery, labor and over fertilization.
